SHIVA SHANKARA KAIMAL,Ex.POEL(R) AWARDED DOCTORATE

Ex.POEL(R) Kaimal was awarded a Doctorate by the Physical education department and sports university, Chennai.

He was felicitated at the age of 76, when most people turn to “Vanaprastha” or “Sanyas”. His persistent hard work and undying determination has taken this famous university coach to such great heights. His research is on our young athletes who are burning out due to excessive training and practice. 

While in Indian navy he was trained in Patiala sports school and became an athletic coach.

He was ex Calicut university physical education director and during his time Calicut University brought home the inter university athletic crown for the first time. Athletes are his breathing air and the valves degenerating in athletic field he could only see with heavy heart

Though he was able to inspire and shape young athletes easily, after some time they do not reach their goal and get dispirited. His experience over 5 decades of athletic training of our  youngsters, his findings are the real essence of his studies. He was guided by former chancellor Dr. K Vythi Nathan.

Dr. M Natarajan of Chennai Sports University has felicitated him with a “PONNADA” in the presence of some athlete trainees and Mr. PJ Manual.

PLATINUM JUBILEE OF INS.VALSURA IS BEING CELEBRATED IN 2017

A CAR RALLY CONSISTING OF 16 OFFICERS INCLUDING 2 WOMEN OFFICERS ARE COVERING BOTH EAST AND WEST COAST OF INDIA.

Finally the wait is over

The long awaited picnic for fleet meet is here. A one day long picnic is arranged by fleet meet with families and children to a backwater resort called  “OYSTER OPERA”, at padanna, 10 kms. away from Trikaripur, on 9th April 2017.

The details are as follows

• Departure from war memorial, kannur, by special bus at 8am
• Pick up options enroute to taliparamba is considered
• You may come after  breakfast or carry packed  breakfast
• The package include tea/snacks on arrival
• Games such as volley ball, tug of war, swimming in the back water, boating in confined water space….visit to mussel(kallumma kaya) farm etc
• A very heavy lunch including a typical naadan sadhya, alongwith chicken items, fish items,mussels, koondal, kappa varities, and desserts
• Two cottages for dress change/toilet facilities
• Evening tea and snacks at 4 pm
• Depart for kannur at 4.30 pm
• Package cost is rs.1100/ per head, half the rate for children below 12 years of age.
